Operation Round-Up® Awards $13,000 to Local Projects

Operation%20Roundup.jpgThe Central Electric Cooperative Operation Round-Up program awarded $13,000 to eight local organizations after the Board of Trustees meeting on November 12, 2019.

Recipients included the following: 1) Aurora County 4-H Leaders, $1,000 for an AED; 2) Buffalo County Rural Fire Protection District 1, $1,000 for gloves; 3) City of Wessington Springs Pool Task Force, $2,500 for an ADA accessible entrance and concessions area; 4) Ethan Historical Society, $1,000 for lighting and flooring; 5) Hanson County Child Protection Team, $1,000 for the Angel Tree Program; 6) Mitchell Area Historical Society, $1,500 for building repairs; 7) Mitchell United Way, $2,500 to launch an area 211 program; and 8) Plankinton Pool Committee, $2,500 towards the new bathhouse.

Operation Round-Up grants are funded by Central Electric members who voluntarily round-up their electric bill to the nearest dollar. Since the program’s initiation in 2015, Operation Round-Up has awarded over $95,000 to local projects.
