Crow Creek Sioux Ambulance Service and Tokata Youth Center recently accepted Operation Round-Up® grants from Central Electric Cooperative. Operation Round-Up is a grant program funded by Central Electric members who round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar.

Crow Creek Sioux Ambulance Service is using a $1300 grant for AED medical cabinets and supplies.

"The cabinets provide community access to AEDs, Narcan and other medical supplies," Crow Creek Emergency Management Director Tommy Thompson explained in the grant application.

Tokata Youth Center is using a $2000 grant toward the new outdoor physical activity and nutrition space, which includes a kickball field.

Aaron Vaughn, Director of the Tokata Youth Center, explained, "The youth center is a hub for youth and families to participate in activities after school. Adding the new fields helps our students get outside and stay physically active."

Donita Loudner serves on the Central Electric board of directors for Buffalo County, and Yvette Isburg serves on the Operation Round-Up board of trustees for Buffalo County. For more information about the grant program, call 605-996-7516 or visit www.centralec.coop and click on member programs.
